Mature Modelling...A frank view from Silvee

Here are a few questions that I was asked during a recent interview with a freelance journalist and
I have answered them as honestly as I can. If you want a copy of the complete interview, please visit my CD's for sale page.
When
did you start modelling?
It was when Playboy TV came up to our Studios in 2003, I put on a maids outfit, then a basque, and it’s gone from there. My partner created this website for me and put my profile on various networking
sites and the photoshoots came in from there. I do it because I enjoy it, and don't take myself too seriously. Life
can be fun, modelling is fun, especially at my age and I will carry on until I can't do it anymore.
Whats the difference between this type of modeling
from other types?
There
are all types of models in The Guild, all sizes, all shapes, all ages. Our oldest
was 68. People want to see normal models size 14-16, that is my idea. Catwalk models are an ideal or
even abnormal, our models are real. We are the normal ones. I am proud of my body, including my scar. If people are offended then they shouldn’t look.
All women are beautiful and people see that.
Tell me about reactions from other people about your modelling.
I was working at Sainsburys when my colleagues
saw my picture in Best magazine. They started to put me down but what do they do at weekends? I enjoy what I do and I enjoy life. That is when I left and become
a model full time.
People who are negative, are they
just jealous and insecure within themselves?
At work it was jealousy as they would not have the nerve to be
semi naked. I found that out when I appeared in the ITV program ‘The Great British Body’, as so many were afraid
to bare all, but we were all naked and it didn’t matter. I’m definitely not an exhibitionist, and will respect
peoples wishes especially when on holiday. I go topless but only go nude on a deserted beach.
What
causes us to be this way?
I think it’s been passed down over the years and how you are brought up. The family will
dicate how you are.
Is
it the fault of advertisers?
It’s up to the individual to be how they want to be, they should not be influenced by
the media. Be as you want to be. Models on page 3 are almost acceptable, but that is accessible to anyone even children. Erotic
art is true to life, this type of modeling is more representative of the human body rather than what is depicted in magazines.
People should not be discouraged from looking at an erotic art model instead of a magazine model, glamourous and even false
but erotic modelling is real life.
What does ideal beauty mean?
What comes out from within. Beauty is inside you and everyone sees beauty differently.
We ourselves as women create the ideal beauty but unfortunately we are influenced by the media.
Why
does everyone want to be size 0.
Because that is seen as the norm. A glamourous model is size 0 is what the media want you to think. There has
to be education to young girls that size 12/14 is normal and I’m proud of what I do to try
and break that taboo. If you
feel good about your body then you will feel good about everything. Just eat and enjoy!
