The work of Reclusive British Erotic Artist Ragatilang features in collections in the UK and
also as far afield as the USA, Taiwan, Thailand and the Republic of China.
An artist of high individuality, Ragatilang is interested primarily in capturing the essence
of a moment. Whether this may be a moment of repose or one of intense pleasure, commentators have frequently remarked on the
emotional and passionate qualities of his work. Often using as his subjects individuals well-known to him, Ragatilang strives
always to convey something of the essential human qualities of that person.
Ragatilang's work ranges from rapid sketches in Watercolour, Graphite, Chalk and Ink to larger
pieces in Oils and Acrylic. Stylistic hallmarks include a simplicity and stillness of line and tone in some works, alternating
with a wild, even manic abandon in others. Splattering and drips are frequently used by the Artist to convey the intoxication
of sex. In one sketch, there may be a shadow here, a dab of light there, the whole bound together by no more than two or three
lines. In the next, a more extrovert approach suggests the delirious play of bodies or the movement of a hand, whether languid
or urgent as it touches skin; the viewer is invited into a secret world where all is surrendered to passion and ecstasy.
These artworks are amongst others on display at Beaumont Hall Studios.
