Barry Tyler C.Eng. Qualified
as a mechanical and electrical engineer, and began painting in the early 70's whilst living in London at the time, being
engaged as a scientist at a research laboratory for the gas council.
Became a chartered engineer, member of the institution of gas engineers, member of the institute of energy, and became
an industrial engineer with British Gas.
In the early 90's, with the demise of industry in the London area, and the
pending changes in the gas industry, he left British Gas to take up painting as a sole profession.
Upon leaving British
Gas he undertook a graphic design course to learn the art of computer aided graphics. This technology is utilised, not only
in creating works of art in their own right, but producing images which are used as sketches for larger painted works.
He
specialises in either figurative or landscape works using his own skills as a freehand artist and computer imagery to create
beautiful colourful works of art.
Has had several self initiated exhibitions, together with local and French exhibitions.
Paintings have also been exhibited in the Llewellyn Alexander and Mall Galleries
in London.
He exhibited in the art gallery section of Erotica 1998 exhibition at Olympia, London, as well as the X-Sensual
Exhibition at Wembley, London, in 1999.
In 2000/2001 he exhibited in the New York 2000ad exhibition at the 'DFN gallery',
New York, USA.
After
taking a long break through illness he is now exhibiting his artwork at Beaumont Hall Studios on a permanent basis.
